Newly widowed Jo and her two young sons are moving from London to Broadgate Bay, a seaside town on the Kent coast where the tide has most definitely gone out. Jo has taken over her grandmother's wool shop McKnits. With a perilous bank balance and even more wobbly self-confidence, she must revitalise the old-fashioned dusty shop full of peach four-ply and create a new life in the village.
